Schimpf Cruises in the Final Round to Win the 76th South Carolina Women's Amateur Championship

(August 20th Georgetown, SC). Emma Schimpf had a walk in the park today as she headed into the final round with a seventeen-shot lead at the DeBordieu Club in Georgetown, SC.  Schimpf's final round was a simple 71 (-1), which capped off an all-time WSCGA performance this weekend, finishing -17 with a historic 62 in the 2nd round.  Hannah Altman had the low score for the final round with 5 birdies on her way to shooting 69 (-3).  Altman finished the Championship comfortably in 2nd place at -2. Kelsi Mauzy (+7) finished in 3rd, and Emerson Devers and Katie Ireland (+8) finished T4.

Shealy Holds off Huff to Win State Division

 

Catherine Shealy successfully defended her State Division over Natalie Huff and Co.  Shealy ended with a score of 232 (+21) for the Championship after an 81 in the final round.  Shealy firing off back-to-back 78s in the first 2 rounds proved to be the winning difference.  Natalie Huff had a streak of 8 pars in a row in her final round 80 (+8) to shoot the State Division low for the round.  Huff finished in 2nd with Spidell and Palmer finishing 3rd and 4th respectively.

Hunt Wins Palmetto Division with [In]Consistent  Scoring

 

Beth Hunt went 79-79 to win the Palmetto Divisions that was her's to lose starting today. Hunt played the back 9 an average 4 shots better per round.  Mary Lange finished in 2nd with Em Clifford placing 3rd in the Division.

Uitto Wins the Super Senior Division Title

 

Denise Uitto from Savannah Lakes Village Club won the Super Senior Division handily over Linda Travis (2nd) and Suzanne Musikantow (3rd).  Uitto carded a 87 to finish the Championship with a score of 167 (+23).
