Sophia Burnett Outstanding Final Round to Win the 77th South Carolina Women's Amateur Championship

(August 13th Bluffton, SC). Sophia Burnett headed into the final round with a two-shot lead at the Colleton River Club in Bluffton, SC. Burnetts' finishing round was an outstanding bogey free 68 (-4), including a hole in one on #12! This is her 3rd State Amateur Championship title! Lexi Bennett followed closely behind posting a 70 (-2) which put her in 2nd, 3rd was Katie Ireland finishing with a 74 (+2). 

Kerry Rutan Wins State Division!

Kerry Rutan breezes through the final round ending with a score of 155 (+11) for the Championship after an 79 in the final round. Kerry finished winning by a total of 8 strokes after the past two days. Coming in 2nd is Renee Rezzetano with a total of 163 (+19), close behind in 3rd is Carol Hammond posting a 164 (+20). 

Krueger Wins Palmetto Division!

Cheryl Krueger went 77-80 to win the Palmetto Divisions. With a strong 77 in the first round, she may of not played her best on day two but she was able to hold her own and take the title. Finishing 2nd and 3rd were Lelia Reynolds and Julie Snider.

Palmer Wins the Super Senior Division Title!

Betty Palmer from Coosaw Creek Golf Club won the Super Senior Division following, Karin Wolfe (2nd) and Karen Ferree (3rd). Palmer carded a 76 to finish the Championship with a score of 156 (+12).
