WSCGA Rule of the Month
Rule 25 - Modifications for Players with Disabilities
25.1 Overview - Applies to all competitions and forms of play for players in the following categories:
Players who are blind (Rule 25.2)
Allows players: To have a caddie and aide assist with aiming, have limited exception on the prohibitions of touching sand in a bunker, and receive assistance when dropping
Players who are amputees (Rule 25.3)
Allows players: To use a prosthetic device, make a stroke while anchoring the club, and receive assistance when dropping
Players who use assistive mobility devices (Rule 25.4)
Allows players: To use mobility device to help take a stance and make a stroke. There are also modification for certain relief procedures
Players with intellectual disabilities (Rule 25.5)
Allows Players: To have a caddie, aide, and a supervisor. The player may only get advice from the player's caddie and aide
Each rule provides specific modifications to certain Rules of Golf to allow players with specific disabilities to play fairly with players who have no disability, the same disability, or a different type of disability
