WSCGA Senior Championship

May 19th - Myrtle Beach, SC  --  The final round of the 2026 WSCGA Senior Championship began today at the Grande Dunes Members Club in Myrtle Beach, SC.  92 golfers from all over South Carolina competing in either the Senior Championship (ages 50-64) or Legends Division (ages 65+). 

Championship Division

Lea Venable fired a final-round 73 (+1) to capture the 2026 WSCGA Senior Championship by one stroke over Beth Hunt. Venable birdied two par-5 holes on the front nine today en route to her first WSCGA Senior Championship title.

Hunt made a strong charge late in the round with back-to-back birdies on holes 15 and 16, but ultimately finished just one shot short of the title. She still, however, claimed first place in the Second Flight.

Gay Shackelford won the Third Flight by eight shots, while Angela Devaux captured the Fourth Flight by two shots over Suzanne Mullin.

Legends Division

Leigh Coulter posted matching rounds of 77-77 to win the Legends Championship by five shots over defending Legends Division Champion Lizbeth Yacovone and Jane Tryder.

In the Second Flight, Paulette Murphy rallied from a four-shot deficit entering the final round. Her final-round 78 (+6) secured a narrow one-shot victory over Cynthia Andereck.

Luke Myers captured the Third Flight by three shots, highlighted by a birdie and skin on the par-3 eighth hole during the final round.

The Fourth Flight was decided by a scorecard playoff between Kim CaraDonna and Helen Geisel. The tiebreaker, based on the back nine scores from the final round, favored CaraDonna and earned her the flight title.

Caroline Buswell won the Legends Fifth Flight, while Brenda Derrick claimed the Sixth Flight title.
